Emily Wright is a gastroenterologist at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. As a post-graduate NHMRC fellow Emily completed a PhD in the scientific and microbial factors affecting the recurrence of post-operative Crohn’s Disease in 2016 and was awarded the Dean’s Award for Excellence in a PhD Thesis through the University of Melbourne. Emily is an active inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) clinician and researcher and has published widely. Emily is currently working as part of the STRIDENT and PICCOLO research projects looking at stricture management in Crohn’s disease and Pregnancy in IBD respectively. She has an interest in emerging microbial and dietary treatments for IBD. Emily trained in intestinal ultrasound in Calgary, Canada and has established the intestinal ultrasound service at St Vincent’s Hospital. She speaks regularly at national meetings on the management of inflammatory bowel diseases.
